A Sad Swan Song Story

I went to Logans Landing today to see what I could see.
There are often swans and ducks and geese...
I spotted this beautiful friend near the shore fighting against the strong North wind.

Look closer...

As you can see one of her feet is tucked under her wing across her back, obviously injured

I wondered what had happened to cause somethiong like this...
and then this happened!

Obviously this probably happens often

I will stop by in a day or so and see if I can find this wounded one again

A Walk with My Friend Gabrielle

This week I went out walking along the Boardman River with my friend Gabrielle.
We met a couple years ago at Bryant Park in Traverse City, both of us there to enjoy the sunset.
Both of us there hoping to get a few good pictures and perhaps to meet a new friend or two.

This day was one of the first nice days this year, the trees finally showing some green.
She contacted me and said lets get together, its been too long.

We met near the river crossing on Cass Road, it was a warm sunny day.
So nice to walk and catch up and enjoy natures beauty.

As we walked along the river a family of geese were floating down the river beside us.  They soon came along side us and took to the shore.  As they crossed in front of us, it was so awesome to see the little ones being guided along by their parents.

As we walked along we noticed more geese to the right of us.
As we slowly walked nearer we discovered a beautiful little creek and a quiet pond near the edge of the woods.

The sound of a thousand toads singing filled our ears as we enjoyed the view.

More geese were finding peaceful rest in the shallow pond, we stopped to enjoy the view.

As we walked a bit we discovered a couple swans and a small baby resting along the riverbank.
What an incredible sight..  This was so much more than I had hoped for.

I am so glad to be able to spent this time with my friend.  We both enjoy times like these.

Until next time, I wish you peace and many sunsets

Peaceful Tomm
