How cool is this
Old pictures brought to life
Inspired by Shorpy‘s collection of historic photographs, animator Alexey Zakharov created his own steampunk time machine using antique photographs, 3-D software and a touch of computer animation to transport viewers of his short film back to 1930s America. It’s hard to believe this resulting footage came from two-dimensional photographs. Zakharov spent over a year on the project, separating the static parts, such as the famous buildings, from the moving parts, or the people, cars and trains.
